Referrals and Admissions

Springboard is a school for children aged between 9 and 18 who have a range of special educational needs. All students should have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Students may have learning difficulties and/or low attainment as a result of either their Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Admissions Process

Students who attend Springboard are usually referred to us by their local authority.  We currently receive referrals from West Sussex, Brighton & Hove, Hampshire and East Sussex. We will also consider admissions from Parents/Carers direct and other local providers.

If we consider that the prospective student meets our admissions criteria, we will arrange for the child to visit us with their parents or carers. They will be able to tour the school, meet our key staff and talk about our school policies and curriculum.

If all parties agree that our school can meet the child’s needs, and that the child and parents/carers are committed to the placement, the necessary admission arrangements will be made.
