The Springboard Placement Process
- Request for brochure.
- Referral by Local Authority or other agency.
- Papers sent to Springboard.
- Contact between Springboard and current or most recent education placement.
- Visit by young person and adult with parental responsibility.
- Risk assessment of pupil
- Suitability of placement agreed.
- Funding agreed.
- Young person placed.
Assessment of Educational Needs
- Springboard teachers carefully consider the pupil’s Statement of Educational Needs
- Base-line assessments are carried out in Numeracy, Literacy and Science
- Behaviour is observed and analysed
- Specific requirements of the Placing Authority are ascertained.
- Parents or carers and the young person are consulted
- An Individual Education Plan and Behaviour Plan are drawn up
- Appropriate modules of work are identified
Accreditation is available to suit the abilities and aptitudes of all pupils. AQA certificates; from Entry Levels 1,2,3 to Adult Literacy and Numeracy 1, 2 plus GCSE courses are accessed as appropriate.
